Our Approach

 What we do

We are a specialist trust, supporting learners with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Unlike many academy trusts, we don’t enforce a curriculum for all our schools to follow, as we recognise that each of our schools is unique. Rather, the curriculum is driven by the schools’ areas of expertise and is based on the needs of the cohorts, which are changing over time.

We support each school or college partner to offer a programme that enables our young people to develop independence and skills for adulthood, including employability, so that our students are prepared for life after education, whatever that might look like depending on the individual’s hopes and aspirations.

How we do it

Our shared services team provides comprehensive expertise and support covering everything from developing teaching practice to careers support, and from estates management to the ICT provision, with one focus: securing the best outcomes for our learners.

What’s more, you also have the assistance of all the other organisations in the Creating Tomorrow family too. Across all our provisions, we cover the whole range of SEND expertise and if you need support, there’s always someone who can help.

We have established trust-wide Best Practice Teams that have expert knowledge across a wide range of areas, which helps drive collaboration between organisations, facilitates continuous improvement, and acts as an additional source of support.

Empowering school autonomy

Although we are a family who work together, each of our education partners keeps their individual identity and uniqueness. Our Trust Board provides oversight, challenge and support, which is strengthened at school level by Local Governing Boards to empower school autonomy and provide local accountability.

Our college is a wholly owned subsidiary of the trust and is governed by a separate Board of Directors, with oversight from our Board of Trustees.

Developing Partnerships

We are committed to partnership working across our schools/college and the education sector and we acknowledge that sometimes formal collaboration is not always the desired outcome. We are not a 'grow at any cost' trust, but we do believe that we are stronger when we work together, and so we welcome informal collaborations too.

If you’re considering working/collaborating with us, or even interested in joining us, let's have a discussion. Please see the “Join our Partnership” page to read a bit more about our offer and our contact details.
